I almost listed that one. Most of the annual movie classics mentioned were shown around an event/holiday, if memory serves me right. The Wizard of Oz was usually shown in the spring, Ben-Hur and The Ten Commandments around Easter.

Not to hijack your thread, but I miss some of the "live" productions that used to be shown every year.... Peter Pan, Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and Ahmad & the Night Visitors come to mind. I remember really looking forward to watching them as a kid, and I wouldn't miss them for anything.
