On Gordo Banks off the Baja coast near Bahia San Jose the Hammerheads now and then would school up during some sort of seminar or meeting they all decided to attend. Hundreds of them ! Cousteau filmed these episodes. Magnificent. Usually around October-November. The top of the reef is close to 100 ft and then drops to infinity-or so it seems. So if you become interested in filming all the Hammerheads it is always a decompression dive. I learned that "the hard way" !
