Re: The greatest food on earth...

I love eggs, bacon/sausage, hash browns, and biscuits. Unlike cooking eggs and bacon though, which takes about 5-10 minutes tops, neither hash browns or biscuits can be prepared quickly. It takes time to peel the potatoes, shred them, then squeeze the water out before putting them in a skillet. Biscuits take time, too, to measure all the baking ingredients then fold and roll out the dough and cut out the biscuits. I used to take the easy way out and buy Pillsbury Southern biscuits (they're in a bag in the freezer section at the grocery store) before I realized I could make them myself. What I usually do is prepare a batch of buttermilk biscuits but I don't bake them right away. I put them in a Ziploc bag and store them in the freezer. Then when I want some, I just take out a couple and in their frozen state, I put them on a small baking sheet and pop them in my toaster oven for about 15 minutes. Just curious... when you have hash browns and biscuits at home... are they made from scratch?
