When I was like 12 , I got to ride in the local Pony Express charity ride in our Main Sail Parade

Most of you probably have never heard of the Pony Express Riders Of Iowa

Their a network of volunteer "Riders" who host fundraisers in their home county throughout the year. and the money goes to Iowa children and adults with disabilities

There was a whole bunch of us that day , as there always is , in the hundreds of riders , now we don't own any horses , be we know plenty who do , and I got asked along one time when I was like 12

well............

there was a girl there my age from a different town , and wow , she set my heart a flutter...................lol

and when we were riding down main street , Elton John's Crocodile Rock was playing from somewhere down the street

but sadly , that girl , we'll just call her Wendy , never wanted anything to do with me................lol

I would still bump into her on occasion through , different High School events

but to this day , every time I hear Crocodile Rock , I'm reminded of that warm Summer day and that 12 year old girl on horse back who had nothing to do with me................lol

But there is probably at least a dozen more Elton John songs that will instantly bring me back to a certain time and place
