you mentioned was probably the trip reset for GFI outlets.. GFI's are, by code, required around water, so your bathroom and kitchen outlets are usually all GFI's.. I would guess outdoor outlets would also be GFI's since it rains outside, but I've never actually taken and outside outlet apart or rewired one....
