MY '76 TR7 was a nightmare - everything on Earth that COULD go out on it, did.. I used to joke that it had more tow miles on it than driven miles..
The '80 Spider has been much more reliable - its never stranded me in 19 years, although on two occasions it would have, had I not been pulling into the driveway when it faltered..

Lucas... I think I've told you that Lucas's (for those who don't know is the name of the electronics company that manufactured all the electrics in the car) nickname is:
The Prince of Darkness.. Not a great nickname for an electronics company..

..and I did see a bumper sticker on a mechanics' toolbox that read:
"Why do the Brits drink warm beer?"
"Because all the refrigerators in England are made by Lucas"
