Now. . . I would like to say it was for his championship winning 'boot' in 1950, but I was only four at the time.

It was at a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new gymnasium at Ashland (Ohio) College that an old friend of mine funded. But rather than the traditional shovel in the dirt moment. . . Lou literally kicked off the event with his famous toe. And 'Chic' asked me to hold for him.

That and beating Don Garlits at pool were my two great moments in sports.
