Saw a post about this on Facebook.. so I'm stealing it.
Little known fact... not ALL, but a GREAT DEAL of the food used to feed livestock is delectable. I munched tons of it in my youth, and, well, I still munch on it today if I come near it. Granola Bars? Yccch. Sugar Beet Pulp used to feed sheep, and other livestock? SCRUMPTIOUS! Most grains are big thumbs up. Oats for horses is divine. And how about Salt Licks? Please do NOT tell you you have never licked a Salt Lick... and it doesn't matter WHAT creatures were licking it before you got there. Hell, I've chased cattle off to be first at the table.
Cotton seeds, believe it or not, are wonderful. Also poisonous but ya know... you just gotta take risks sometimes.
Maybe it's only us farmers... ex-4-H members, FFA Members, I don't know.... but there is a whole world of fine cuisine out there you may not know about. - JamesJM
