A friend of mine recommended Dr. Who to me about... oh... I guess a year ago?

I watched all of season 1.... and I'm about 3 or 4 episodes into season 2. Considering this is one of the longest running series in TV history this means I've only begun... and not even close to being versed on the many topics - controversies, characters debates, of avid fans... of which there are many. Therefore I don't have a 'favorite' Dr. Who... I know only one.

I like the series... but I'm not 'stricken' with it. Netflix has, or did have (not sure about today), the entire series available.
