It's not 'tricked out'... since I do next to nothing on it besides reading this board. My old MacBook was 9 years old... and showing it's age.
This new MacBook Pro came with 2 USB-C ports.... that's it... not a single other port. Which meant... a trip to a few online computer stores to buy some adaptors.
I haven't been on it long enough to know about battery life but first indications are good. Last night I watched a movie and browsed the internet at the same time and at the end of the movie I still had 95% power. Looks like it won't be like my old MacBook where I had to be connected if I was on the game time Forum.
I kept it clean.... meaning I migrated very few apps and data from my old laptop. That was pretty easy for me as I use cloud storage for most of my important documents anyway.
Adobe is getting no where near this new laptop.... I've had nothing but bad experiences with Adobe Flash. Note: That's probably Apple's fault since they have been feuding with Adobe since forever ago. Actually it's probably both Apple and Adobe's fault.
For the first time on a laptop I have an illuminated keyboard... love it. I only had one semester of 'typing' in High School... and although I am an incredibly fast typer with 'letters' I have never learned well the special character keys, (except for a meager few), or 'numbers'. So, at night the illuminated keys are very handy to find the right keys.
Before you ask... yes, I considered a tablet/pad.... but I do not like them. I have an iPad Mini, rarely use it. A couple of my grandkids have larger iPads which I've experimented with, don't like them either.
Nothing was all that surprising about this new laptop EXCEPT... how thin it is. It's not much thicker than a pad/tablet.
So I'm set for the next 9 years... approximately 5 Ram SB Victories from now. - JamesJM
