I do not believe this is a spoiler.... but... if you worry it might be skip it. It's about the 'best' scene but nothing to do with what is IN the scene, what it's about IOW.
The very best acting scene in the entire move... obviously just my opinion, is the very first one. I was stunned..... and when it comes to acting I 'stun' seldom, maybe once every decade or so, or less. It's not the most emotional, or important, or even 'best' as far as the totality of the scene to include everything... (maybe, but that's not where I'm coming from in this reply).
I mention this because, and perhaps you do this instinctively as I do, it's to put you on notice to notice 'it all'... his expressions, eye movement, body language.
I've said before on this board that there are very few roles I've ever seen in my life in which I think an actor carried an excellent performance throughout the film... VERY few...off the top of my head: George C. Scott in Patton.... Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch... scant few others. So I don't mean that this first scene is excellent and the rest is subpar... I simply mean the acting in the first scene is, IMHO, most noticeably, in your face, noteworthy. - JamesJM
