well, you weren't, were you? That's ok, I will.
You may recall I bought a Jag two years ago. First Jag I had ever owned. Here's what I knew about them: They 'looked' fabulous, beautiful cars and always, since forever ago, at the top of my list for 'beauty'. Also... VERY bad reputation for breaking down constantly.... for some time, BUT... apparently, they had corrected this quite a while back.
So after two years here's my review:
The breaking down thing: I gotta say this holds true, that they do. Mine has been in the shop a LOT... to include not only piddly little stuff but one major breakdown that required a complete engine rebuild. Mine, however, was under full warranty, obviously, so I was out no money AND... service has been 'excellent'.
So do I regret buying it? No, not for a second, even though the breakdowns have annoyed the living hell out of me. The reason... if there exists a better handling car on the road today, (with the exception of the exorbitantly expensive sports cars, like Ferrari or Lamborghini ), you'll have to prove it to me. It's SOOOOO great at handling, and ride, that... get this:
My daughters noticed it and 'borrow' it from me every chance they get.
My oldest grand son, I learned after getting home from England, parked his car and drove my Jag every day I was gone.
It's not that fast, I wish I would have gotten the bigger engine.... but it takes corners on a rail, solid as it gets. It rides like you're floating on a cloud YET gives you the feel of road like no other. And perhaps the best of all.... it's quiet.... even with my bad hearing I can hear conversations in the back seat.
No regrets, and in fact I'm thinking of trading it in so I can get another WITH the big engine. - JamesJM
