I guess the team met, 3 hours before game time..

and decided to play... they had considered cancelling the game. They played 10 players on D for the first play of the game in memory of Coach Taylor.

It was amazingly sudden. He was last on the field Aug.1 Last conversation I had with him was that day. They kept it quiet but, as you know... 'small town'. They haven't revealed in the Bee yet what he died of but it was cancer.
