..and it is based on a true story.. Of course, in real life they just never found the people - no idea if there were any sharks anywhere in the area..
Now my rant: You hafta be one super duper sized IDIOT to get left behind on a dive.. For one, you're never supposed to leave the group or the dive master - and they did.. With visibility that good, you should, at least, never lose sight of SOMEBODY in your group - and they did..
but, I'll say this - the movie was done well.. seasoned divers would not have panicked like they eventually did, plus seasoned divers would have taken off their fins and waved them wildly when there were still boats in sight so the could be seen.. these people didn't do it until late in the movie with a oil tanker or something like 5 miles away..
Now, in real life I have actually been on a boat that picked up a lost diver.. Different situation tho.. was in Cozumel where there are like 15 boats diving the area at the same time.. this person managed to get separated from his group and was in the water floating like the couple in the movie.. But, in Cozumel he was like a quarter mile from the beach, so he could have swum to land easily..
Then again, I can't say anything.. I'v left the group several times following a shark or spotted eagle rays, and come up with the boat loaded looking for me.. but, they are cool cuz they knew I could handle it and I didn't even get in trouble lol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
