I'm humbled to read that you volunteer at a shelter. We donate to a bunch of local - and not so local - dog-based shelters and organizations. But you truly put your money where your mouth is. Thank God for no-kill shelters and rescues.
We have a neighbor - another doggie lover - who gets up at 4:30 every morning to go to a local no-kill rescue to make sure all the pooches get walked. She's a saint. She actually pointed us towards our third - a female Yellow Labrador we adopted 3-1/2 years ago. We'd lost our first female Yellow, Flair, in the summer of 2012. Flair was my wife's baby ... she didn't think she could ever have another female Yellow Labrador. Then Connie told us about Isabella. It was love at first sight.
Flair will always be the Queen of our home ... but Isabella is now the undisputed Princess. And a perfect foil for her two older brothers, Kobe and Charlie. Best pack on Earth, we think.
Anyway ... sincerely ... thank you for loving dogs and caring that much.
