Seriously, crashing your head into solid ice at 50-60 mph-even with a helmet-is always going to concern me. No matter how one looks at it any concussion be it a mild, moderate, severe is nevertheless a brain injury by a rapid movement of the brain inside the skull. The more severe ones result in the brain actually impacting the skull causing permanent brain damage. While many experience repetitive concussions w/o being symptomatic there are many who experience one moderate to severe concussion who end up suffering from CTE.
