Just like you I felt quite sad for him.

But most people 'lose' in the Olympics, or any sport. It's not only in winning that we find heroes, I personally don't think it's even 'most' of the time.

There was a swimmer last night who, when interviewed by Michelle, was exuberant about winning a bronze. But Michelle, (and I don't think she did anything 'wrong') led with 'disappointment' for not doing better when starting the interview... I think any interviewer would.... but the kid who won the bronze was on top of it, because he was sincere and truly thrilled with himself... and quickly brought back the interview to how great it was to win a bronze in the Olympics.

From what I've seen so far Lochte also took it quite well. We really need, media and us fans, to celebrate more just getting into the Olympics. - JamesJM
