Looks like we will be making the move soon. Sheesh, the $$$$$. Ah well. 
Question... do they make good house pets? We understand they need daily exercise, ability to roam a little.... BUT... we don't want to risk an outside dog (traffic and fear she/he would chase cars... almost certainly fatal in my area).... we'd want her/him to live inside the house. I don't like keeping a dog penned up and definitely NOT on a chain.
We've only had outdoors dogs in the past... that did NOT chase cars, but there's still a danger. In the old days I wouldn't have worried about it much because traffic around my home is minimal... that has changed with all the land going into trees. Now workers are constantly up and down the roads.
I have precisely ZERO experience raising an indoor dog, so any suggestions... (from anyone)... very much appreciated.
