It's World Cup Time... got an email from RamUK...

he said I should pop in on the Pub if for no other reason than to annoy all of you with Soccer talk . Nah, he didn't actually suggest that... that's my idea.

No Italy. No USA I 'get', but no 'Italy'? It's almost like watching the Rams take the field without horns on their helmets.

But enough chit chat... down to the nitty-gritty... my expert prognostications:

England... that's my team. RamUK hails from there, or did... and my son lives there. AND - Belgium... because they brew the best beer in the world. I like Germany but they are the favorites so my relationship is more like 'we're friendly but I don't want to sleep with them'.

Other favorites: Morocco.. they know how to do 'uniforms'. They are 250 - 1 against so if you want to see their uniforms you'll have to do it quickly. Mexico - because nearly everyone I know around my home town is rooting for them and if I don't they'll toilet paper my house. South Korea because they've been in the news a lot lately so I've heard of them.

And lastly - Iceland... because it's Iceland. Yes you read that correctly... Iceland. You've probably heard of their capital... Razorveck. Or something like that.

Who I'm rooting against: France... because it's France. I think France should cater the World Cup, not play in it. Nah, actually I kind of like France... but they're part of that "Top 4" so I just can't make myself root for a favorite.

My prediction to win it all: Argentina. Because I read an article from someone I've never heard of writing for a publication I had never heard of and they said Argentina would win it all.

First game is about to begin... I won't see it. I'll be at the lake drinking Belgian Beer. - JamesJM
