Music question

So how do musicians get paid these days

meaning , actual record sales can't be anywhere what they used to be , nobody actually buys records or CD's anymore , it's all digital streaming now days

I'm guessing alot has to do with touring and concerts now-a-days , which probably hasn't changed a whole lot , but what about the lose revenue of record sales

do the get some kind of kickback from streaming services ?

and what about gold and platinum records , I'm guessing million selling records are becoming a lot harder to come by , seeing how alot people don't actually buy records anymore

so whats the standard of a hit record now days , and how do they figure it ?

I see Best Buy will no longer be selling CD's starting July 1 , CD's , like 8-tracks are soon to become a thing of the past
