There was one Air Disaster episode..

Where a helicopter crashed and either it ran out of oil or the oil pump fried and that thing eventually seized up from lack of lubrication and immediately went down.. Maybe the main rotor seized up due to something similar and the torque ripped it apart? I dunno.. I know I'd love to talk to a helicopter maintenance guy and pilot to get better insight.. anyways, that's gonna be my initial guess: main rotor seized up from lack of oil.. but that's a total guess.. I'll try to study up on it more...
