when my youngest grandson gets home from practice (sports).... he immediately heads to the shower.... and then proceeds to serenade the entire house. The kid sings the entire time he's in the shower AND at full volume.

Brings back some good memories. I spent countless hours in front of the bathroom mirror air-guitaring and singing Beatles tunes. Well, started that with the Beach Boys as I mentioned.
Funny thing about the 'surf' era... that surf genre really appealed to me. I don't think any of those bands were all that as far as musical talent BUT... just something about that sound, that lifestyle, struck a chord with me. Still today I occasionally, pretty often, fire up my 'surf' era playlist and mentally time travel back to those days.
By the way.... this thread got me fired up. I have 3 kids and 7 grandkids and NOT ONE OF THEM plays a musical instrument. So I just went in to talk to my youngest grandson, (he's home recovering from a sports injury he got yesterday, pulled his hip out of place) and asked him if he'd be interested. He's older than you should be to 'start' but young enough that he could do it. I asked him, "Wouldn't you like to play a guitar".... he said "no", which caught me off guard.... but then he continued "I'd rather play keyboard". WOW, I thought. So as soon as I finish this reply I'm going to research cheap beginner keyboards and find out if anyone nearby gives keyboard lessons.

P.S. OH.. you might have a keyboard recommendation?
