You got me there... never had an injury that bad. BUT.... did have some 'illnesses' that made the gig interesting. The worst involved bowel problems which I will not go into.
Our record for gigs in one week was 11. But I'm not telling you that to brag about how many gigs we played in a week.... no..... what I'm bragging about is:
The week before those 11 gigs I had broken my arm. Yup, played all 11 gigs with my arm in a cast. Definitely took some tweaking to my kit setup. It was my left arm so "snare"... my arm was at a 90 degree angle so I had to raise the snare to mid-body and damn near bring it in touching my stomach.
Had another gig 2 weeks after that one and said to hell with it. Had a friend hacksaw the cast off after 3 weeks, was supposed to wear it for 6 weeks minimum. When I went in to have it removed the doctor wanted to know what the hell happened..... so I lied. Made up a 'farm accident' story to explain the missing cast.

By God, Steve..... for you and me it's gospel that "THE SHOW MUCH GO ON" huh?
