I went to a TOTO and CHRISTOPHER CROSS concert at the Hollywood Bowl just a short time back. It was expensive. Not Taylor Swift expensive but up there. It was worth it for me because the song "Sailing" by Christopher Cross is at least tied as my favorite song of all time. That song changed my life.... I had to see him at least once.
Other than that... I do not as a rule attend concerts these days. Yup, cost, but also I'm old and hate the hassle.

Just a year ago I stumbled on an amazing find, which I think I posted about. MEGA-smooth Jazz stars were having concerts at a local venue for VERY cheap $. The catch was: It was NOT with their full bands. The two I went too had only the star and one or two others. Pretty much solo. It was WORTH IT. Small venue, near Yosemite.... wine, beer, nice meal, and an open air concert beneath the pines. $100 per ticket. OH, also a vintage trail ride, (about 4 miles round trip), to the venue.
For what it's worth.... 'solo' is great. Yes, I'd rather see them with their full bands BUT.... they are SOOOOO talented they will blow your mind. - JamesJM
