But I'm starting to love my HomePod Mini. Take note: I have a HomePod.... this is NOT a "HomePod" recommendation thread. I believe ALL of them, no matter which you choose, are exactly the same.
I like voice control for my bedroom light, fan, heater, etc... BUT - I really didn't need a HomePod for that since my phone will do it as well. What I like:
Much better speaker than my phone, obviously. Waking up and saying "Hey Siri, what's the weather for today?". And "Hey Siri, play ambient music station" Or "holiday music station". I love "Hey Siri, what's the definition of the word Aphoristic?" "Hey Siri, set an alarm for 4am". "Hey Siri, how do I say I want breakfast in Italian". "Hey Siri, what are the NFC West standings".
"Hey Siri, where's my iPhone?" You can't even imagine how often i ask this one.
So you get the idea. Now the truth is that I don't often remember to ask Siri ANY of those things.... I'm just getting used to it. I did use it this morning for this one - "Hey Siri, what's the weather for Porterville, California today?". We have a 3rd round playoff game today in Porterville and rain is threatening.
What I don't like: Siri is always listening to me. Ever word I say. Someone, somewhere, knows everything I say 24 hours a day. Yes, I have it set to NOT listen unless I say "Hey Siri" - and no way in hell do I think Apple obeys that command. - JamesJM
