There used to be events I just didn't care that much for - although I have always appreciated the athletes involved in those sports. Times have changed.
I like them all now. sure, some a lot more than others but I get involved with all of them. Last night I was up til 3am watching shooting... 10m air. A slower sport doesn't exist BUT... I was enthralled.
I was fascinated with the women's Ju Jitsu competition.
I was saddened by the trap shooting events because my neighbors son just missed making the team. Talked to him at church Sunday and he said that as happy as he was for some of the USA participants, (he knew them well), it was painful for him watch knowing he came like two shots away from being there.
I guess the most pleasing event for me so far was Men's gymnastics. Their joy over a 'bronze' was fantastic. Loved watching Fredrick Richard and his parents celebrating. Truly an Olympic moment.
Watching the Olympics is definitely emotionally draining... from incredible highs to crushing lows. - JamesJM
