Re: Changing oil after car sitting

May 01, 2024 12:35PM
Just my point of view

Have a 1997 Tahoe that sits in Arkansas for 2-4
months at a time
Just so when I fly in I have transportation
No problems

Is the oil black , thick and or gooey
Then I recommend yes

The coolant
Is there any evidence of a leak ??
If so bad for animals
Dawn dish soap
If not could be head gasket
Burning it
Not good
Check for excessive moisture below the tailpipe when first
starting in the morning after running for a bit
But also a symptom of water in the gas....so.....

Best advise though is to check with a auto place
And don't take advise from friends like me.......lol

Look at the dip stick 1st, but I'd be inclined to change it...
