Unforgiven, IMO, is one of the greatest movies of all time. Strikingly brilliant... again IMHO.

I was actually blown away when Unforgiven came out followed quickly by Tombstone because I thought westerns had met their demise.. Or do I have them turned around chronologically?

As far as Eastwood.... I always thought he had the gift of portraying a specific character fantastically, but not a versatile actor. He has a unique gift... that of being 'entertaining'... a very often overlooked talent. Unforgiven was actually the movie that opened my eyes and realize I was wrong about him... he was versatile.

Most of all, however... is that 'entertaining' attribute. It can't be overstated. The man is one of the greatest to have ever appeared in film. - JamesJM
