Some Star Trek stuff

CinemaCon took place this week in Las Vegas , and Paramount gave some updates on upcoming Star Trek stuff

get a couple things out of the way , that I don't much care about , season 5 of Star Trek : Discovery is now streaming on Paramount Plus , this will also be it' s final season , I tried watching this series when it for started , but just couldn't get interested , haven't watched any of the last three seasons or so, so as the series comes to an end , I don't much care..................lol

second , Star Trek : Section 31 , originally planed as a spin off series , is now just a Paramount Plus film , Section 31, a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, t , staring Michelle Yeoh , but I'm not even sure what time line this takes places , this movie has already finished filming , no release date yet , but could show up later this year

third , a new Star Trek motion picture is the the work , part of that Kelvin Timeline , with Chris Pine , Karl Urban and Zoe Saldana , even though I've enjoyed those films ok , don't really see the need for a 4th one , but looks like we're going to get one anyways

fourth , a new series is in the works , Star Trek : Academy , , not sure what timeline this will be in either , but it sounds like it could take place far in the future of TOS or even TNG

fith , Star Trek , Lower Desks , season 5 will also be it's last season , but unlike Discovery , I love Lower Decks , and will hate to see it go

sixth , Star Trek : Strange New Worlds , season 3 has finished filming , but don't expect ot see it before 2025 , ( dam actors and writers strike ) , but it's already been renewed for a forth season , which is awesome because Strange New Worlds is my favorite show on TV right now

a little more news about Strange New Worlds , in last years season final , we are introduced to Martin Quinn as Scotty , it's believed he will become a member of the Enterprise , not sure how big of roll he'll have , as I don't think he'll become the Chief Engineer at this time , and my only have a recurring roll , similar as the Kirk brothers do , but thats assuming Carol Kane is returning for season 3 , but details of season 3 are still pretty hush hush

interesting note , Martin Quinn is the first actual Scottish actor to play Scotty
