I remember the milk man (late 60s)

March 03, 2024 08:53AM
I remember seeing him drive down the driveway and he had forgot to close the doors on the back of his van. I chased him on my bike but couldn't catch him before he got to the end of the drive way and turned up the hill. A bunch of milk fell out of the back of the van. Still feel bad for that guy all these years later.

Also remember going to a neighbors house with my mom to buy eggs. She was an old woman who also had a couple of turkeys. Once in a while the turkeys would lay an egg and I thought that giant egg was the most amazing thing in the world.

And I remember going with my mom to the local bakery (town was 10 miles away), they had a lunch counter and every time we went there I had a hamburger and milkshake. Remember those giant milkshakes? They would also give you the stainless mixing cup because there was always a little left over that wouldn't fit in the cup. Now a large shake is what use to pass for a small and it cost $7.
