With a population of maybe 800 people I'm sure you've guessed we don't have any firework shows.
HOWEVER...
I have a one story home but it has a VERY steep roof... so the peak is probably 25, maybe 30' off the ground. Also - I live in the flattest place on earth. We consider the stands at our local high school football field a mountain.
But being so flat....
We can see very long distances. I can easily see, for example, traffic on I-5 some 25 miles west of me. Well, as long as I'm above the Almond tree tops.
I have never done it, (that I recall), on NYE but on July 4th I nearly always climb onto my roof - - and from there I can view Firework shows in several towns/cities in the San Joaquin Valley. The town of Mendota would be the closest at about 10 miles NW as the crow flies... Kerman is about 12 miles NE as the crow flies.... Fresno is around 35 miles NE..... and there are several other towns/cities within 50 miles that have visible firework shows from my rooftop. But my favorite view?
That would be directly west and south.... because it those directions there is only one town.... maybe 100 people 12 miles away.... and then the coast range mountains. Very few lights... except traffic on I-5. So west and south there are no big firework shows.... only individual rockets smuggled into California illegally. People have July 4th parties in their back yards.
