there is one scene I'll never for get

there was a made for TV movie that came out in the mid 1970's called Young Pioneers , based off of a book written by Rose Wilder Lane , who is the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder , of Little House on the Prairie fame

I believe it was suppose to be like a pilot for a new TV show , similar to Little House on the Prairie, but the series never happened

well , the movie was about a young married couple from out east , who packed up everything they own in a covered wagon , and moved to the Dakota Territory

they built this little sod house and tried planting corn , there was this one scene , the young couple had a young baby , and they got swarmed by locust that wiped out their entire crop in like 5 minutes

Linda Purl played the young mother , and she was in the sod house trying to keep the locust out , but they were still getting in , and the baby was covered in locust , that scene to this day still gives me the chills.........................LOL
