I liked the Doobie Bros....

And yes, I'm very aware 'many' consider the Doobie's BS... and 'uncool'... but being uncool has never swayed me. I believe their tune "Black Water" to be brilliant... a song for the ages. BUT... not here to talk about the Doobie's. Well, kind of...

Want to mention Mike McDonald, their lead singer... just superb. He does a lot of 'smooth jazz' these days. I saw him in concert with Dave Koz, "Smooth Jazz". The guy has a fantastic voice. He reminds me of Bob Seger... another vocalist I think is superb.

Moving on.. during my trip home, while alone, this evening a song came on by Rod Stewart. I was never a big Rod Stewart fan... that's NO knock on the man's talent which I fully acknowledge... I just never cared for many of his songs BUT... that was a long ago and today was, well today....

Began with "Forever Young".... That's one HELL of a nice song. I think I was always put off by Rod because I did not like, and still don't, "Maggie May"... maybe his biggest hit.

But like his songs or not the man could sing. So many artists like that... artists in which I can easily HEAR their talent, often phenomenal, but just don't care for their songs. - JamesJM
