I do a lot of stupid things underwater, myself.. leaving the group 5 minutes into the dive at 120 feet and look for sharks alone, do safety stop alone, get on wrong boat alone.. twice... My best one was probably a day after I got COMPLETELY blitzed the night before because my girlified cheated on me.. I remember being somewhat plowed and telling the bartender to put "a little bit of everything" into a large glass.. and he did - he poured a little of every bottle on the shelf..
I was HAMMERED.. I almost fell off the balcony of my room.. So, 7am dive, I was there, still drunk, hangover setting in.. I figure I'll be ok when I hit the water.. I hit the water, go down immediately to 80 feet.. check my gauges - forgot to turn the computer on.. you hafta surface to turn the computer on.. it won't let you turn it on at depth because everything would be off, compression-wise..
So, I said screw it and stayed close to somebody.. Keep in mind with the computer off, I had NO air psi gauge, so never knew how much air I had in the tank for an hour dive.. not real smart..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
