St Louis Cardinals poor 2023 start

Nobody around here gives a hoot about the St Louis Cardinals except me, but that's ok. If ya'll can talk about the Dodgers, I can talk about the Redbirds.

The Cardinals are off to their worse start in at least the last 25 years. I only keep data that goes back to 1998 so I can't say for certain when was the last time they had a start this bad. I just know it's the worse it's been going back to 1998. it may be longer than that. Right now the Cardinals are 8-13 and are in 4th place in the NL Central. Going back to 1998, they've been in 4th place only twice after 21 games (2003 and 2018) and both times they finished the season in 3rd place. That don't fly in St. Louis!! Our bullpen is kinda sucky and a glaring weakness is that we have batters who can get on base but they never seem to manage crossing home plate for runs. Can't tell you how many times we've had bases loaded with zero outs in an inning and the inning finishes with nobody crossing home plate. Too many times, the Cardinals will be in the lead in the first few innings, hitting homers but they can't hang on to the lead. It doesn't matter who we're playing, it's the same. The opposing team comes right back with homers of their own and they take the lead. Really frustrating to watch. The manager and players keep saying, it'll happen... don't get your panties in a wad... be patient... but HEY, that's hard to do when the L's keep racking up. We've won TWO series, lost FOUR and split ONE. Ugh.
