I had to fly from here to Salt Lake City two years ago..

To meet people at Hill AFB. so, i flew with Wichita Falls to Dallas and had almost a tow hour layover to catch the flight to SLC.. So, they board us an hour late, fires up the engine, backs up about 20 feet and stops.. Captain says something like, "Dallas won't allow us to land in 40 minutes (typical flight to Dallas) because we were an hour late and the schedule could accommodate us."

So, he goes on to say, "It'll be a half hour before we can take off the land in our new slot at Dallas.. So, I'm shutting the engines off to save fuel".. it was also about 110 degrees outside, so no AC in the plane with engines off.. 30-40 minutes later he fires up the engines and we take off.. by the time we get to Dallas, the other place to SLC is already loading and on last call.. Of course that gate was on th eother side of the airport and teh tram had just passed our gate, so we had to go through the entire airport tog et back to that gate..

Running full blast they let us board once we got there.. but seriously, a two hour layover should have been easy-peasy but the flight here was so late it had a domino effect and we barely made it.. no apology, no money back - nothing..
