Steve: If you've never seen it how do you know its a chick flick ?
Its based loosely -on a true story as set forth in a 1937 autobiographical book by Isak Dinesen the pen name for Baroness Karen Christenze von Blixen-Finecke who was a Danish author who wrote works in Danish and English. The movie and her book is a real life story of the years she spent in Africa and her relationship with a big game hunter.
Beautifully filmed and yes romantic. I loved it as did my wife. We have the soundtrack that we play on long road trips. If I'm not mistaken it won many awards including best musid (Mozart's Clairnet in A Major)
Besides, I love chick flicks !
