Difference between Vermeil and McVay

January 10, 2023 08:49AM
Vermeil was 10 years older than McVay when he retired the first time from the Eagles. So he had been a coach for a decade longer.

Obviously no NFL head coach has ever quit at 36 years old. There hasn't been that many head coaches in their 30's.

It just makes me think he doesn't really love coaching that much. Who quits after 6 seasons at 36? Most coaches are passionate lifers.

Maybe it's generational. He's a Millennial. I'm a Baby Boomer and don't get it.

That being said, if his heart isn't in it, he should quit.

Part of me feels bad for Kroenke. He took a big chance on a 30 year old who became a top head coach and now he may be bailing on him.

If Sean McVay steps down, it may go down as one of the weakest moves in NFL history

  I can't imagine he'd step down ... unless he can prove it's

How about a 5-year, Favre-like "I might retire" Shakespearian melodrama?

Rams Junkie155January 10, 2023 10:46AM

  Haha that would blow, yeah...
