What are the problems you see? I am not seeing the issues but I could be missing something.
Possibly TV. But for the actual competition, I see very few issues. All the teams get a buy except the 2 teams in question but it is what it is so those teams the Bills and Bengals a little of a disadvantage maybe, but the best of bad situation. I love getting rid of that 2-week gap for the superbowl. Complete waste of time causing boredom and loss of momentum of entertainment.
That 2 weeks completely unnecessary and can't buy any argument for the need of it. Even the pro bowl thing could go on and just not include the final 4 teams. Limit the media exposure to what they do on a weekly basis. All that media is not needed and adds nothing. Don't make up stories where no story exist.
As for as everything else, the final schedule really isn't locked in anyway where teams play and when they play so as for as the actual scheduling logistics in the Stadiums, that should be more than workable. The TV time slots to me is the only issue I can see having everything pushed back 1 week. But the NFL is king and the networks will accommodate considering the circumstances.
Probably a close second to the 2 week gap for the superbowl in the NFL is the rule when somebody fumbles the ball out of the end zone the opposing team gets the ball at the 20. That is the second worst rule in professional sports. The NFL has both #1 and #2.
