Adding 3 starters for OL is overkill.

Especially with our other screaming needs.

Ramstien can clarify this on his own, but I didn't take his comment as necessarily proposing 3 new starters for the OL - just "3 new OLmen this season 2 in the draft and one FA."

But even if that was the case, I don't believe that such a proposal would be outrageous.

The way I see it, we have a hole at LT. Even if he comes back, I'm unsure how effective Noteboom will be returning from an achilles (he wasn't the most athletic LT to begin with). And I stand in agreement with Ramstien in that I don't think it wise to hand over the position to a player (Jackson) that even the Rams didn't want to use a draft pick on.

I think we also have a hole at LG where we didn't even expect Edwards to return had he managed to stay healthy. As for the guys who have been playing there for the past few weeks? It's already been established that these are PS players or guys picked up off the street. Anchrum? Again, another low-drafted player (returning from injury) with no experience. Not gonna knock the gig, but he's likely more of a career back-up than starter.

I could also argue that we have a hole at either C or RG. Right now, it'd be my preference to have Shelton at C. So, that would mean that we'd have Bruss (again, an unproven player who couldn't unseat a back-up) at RG.

I could understand giving the developmental players some burn if we weren't trying to exploit our Super Bowl window. But we are. And as such, we need to fill these holes with experience and/or more draft bodies.

I'm just not very confident in the way the team has handled the OL - both in talent and the ability to get them ready to play Week 1.
