Why pass against the #32 run defense. I had a strong belief that the Ram's run defense would improve with better players at the inside linebacker position. We went to below replacement level inside linebackers all the way to one of the best tandems in the league. My question about the defense is, is the soft coverage to place your shells an inherent part of this defense or is it the fact that the Rams don't really have the corners or safeties to play it tighter? If it is just a matter of coaching up or acquiring a better corner opposite Ramsey or getting better safeties in order to play tighter coverage...or if it is a matter of if we had a more effective pass rush would allow us to play tigher coverage then it would behoove McVay and Raheem to do so.
