Noteboom was a starter twice ... and he lasted 5 games once and 6 games another time.
His best football was coming in as a backup.
That's kinda crazy.
That's a big price tag.
Question is, is AJ Jackson gonna be ready for next year and can he play OLT?
It seems like we need to spend the 2nd rounder elsewhere but there is quality in the draft.
My instincts tell me to not mess around with LT. That was the lynchpin for our line with Whit out there, and without him everything disintegrated. Generally you can get centers, which is another big need, into the draft, but LT is different. I mean you can always win that lottery but generally you need to get the dancing bears up high.
So what I'm thinking right now is move up if possible to get one of the options they like. Doesn't have to be an instant starter type and probably won't be, but just someone with the pedigree and maybe needs a little time to transition. That would make a big difference having that guy on the depth chart.
What would we move up with? Well that's the rub. Maybe they use 2024's first rounder. Or maybe they use a pick they garner from one of their vets who they move, as there are moves ahead prior to this draft. I am certain of that. Either way I think if they can bring in a LT of the future at the top of their draft and then a center they should be ok. And maybe in FA prior to the draft they add an OG and we end up with an OL room that has sufficient investment to ensure it's ready for the rigors of an NFL season.
