In all fairness, you can't judge either performance without asterisks. He played poorly last night, but the line was awful, and 10 days prep is not really much better than 48 hours. Usually your backup has been through the offensive install, run some time with the 1's at camp, etc. Really, the remaining games this year probably won't look much better. Will other teams factor that in when making offers? They should, but who knows. The bulk of his tape is Cleveland, some Panthers, and some Rams. It'll be a mixed bag. I like him as a solid, capable #2 for us. He's currently .500 for us as a starter - which is exactly what you expect from a back up if you're starter goes out for 2,4 or 6 games.

It seems unlikely that he'll get some kind of big offer we can't match. Would any team want him as the #1 guy next year? Not seeing it - even on teams where QB is a wreck like the Texans.
