I think Baker has to be tired of bouncing around. He has a role with the Rams which may not be ideal as the backup but it is a spot he can learn and grow under an offensive mind he trusts. So I figure he will be open to a short term deal of maybe two year duration, which is best for both parties, in which he can come online in this offense fully as the designated backup and will be able to rebuild his mechanics and learn advanced nuances of the position from McVay and Stafford.
If they don't get him done by the offseason it means he'll probably try the FA market. Which I think would be short sighted but everyone wants more money in that paycheck. Basically we'll see what is more important to him and what he's learned thus far in his career via the decision he makes.
