It is possible to be a fan of one thing, but still find beauty in another. I'm really fond of classical music. I like long, harmonically complex compositions from people like Max Richter, but I also appreciate Taylor Swift.
Just because someone is willing to give credit to the 49ers defense, or offensive line, or coaching does not mean that they aren't a Rams fan.
I think it takes much more intelligence to perform this kind of balanced reasoning than to engage in the blind, clunky, partisan thinking that sports fans usually do.
