Usually the best team in the nfl isn't decided by another teams' fanbase. They play game for a bit and at the end - a trophy is presented. So last year we were the best team in the nfl. Would everyone agreed we were the best team at this time last year? I don't think so. There were a lot of questions after our november and Stafford never winning a playoff game. There are a handful of very good teams this year and lots of mediocre ones. The Packers and Cowboys were both 'better' than the 49'ers last year - at least pundits thought they were. Yet they found ways to lose in the playoffs.
The chiefs look pretty unstoppable - then the Bengals beat them. So who know at this point
