TTA has tremendous speed and great hands.
Aside from the obvious and indefensible GO route he is learning the other aspects and routes of a pro game. He was stuck behind CK, AR, VJ and SKOW to start the season. And then, when our top guys went down Powell was getting snaps. TTA will excel in basic plays. GO, flag, post, outs, digs. He will learn the rest. He will get better at dragging his feet on the sidelines. He will know where to cut up field on reverses. He will learn double moves. He can get better as a blocker. It sometimes takes a couple of years to learn it all and get comfortable at WR. Last season he got hurt and basically red-shirted. We won the SB without him playing. This season we were expected to repeat and signed AR to a huge deal. With CK and VJ back and SKOW showing some good things I wasn't shocked to see TTA not play a lot. But, then things got very messy. Our entire OL and all the backups got hurt. Stafford had no time. So, Stafford went into emergency mode throwing desperate passes toward CK, because Kupp can make impossible plays. That became the whole offense. And when done if the OL got back CK got hurt. Then AR. Then, VJ. There was no time to develop a young speed WR into a complicated offense. So, I give McVay the benefit of a doubt here. He forgot about Tutu because his Titanic had already hit the iceberg. You know, The Iron Horse aka aloe Gehrig never would've played 1B for the Yankees because Wally Pipp, an All Star, was already there. One day Pipp was sick and Gehrig took his place that day and the. played another 2,129 straight Hall of Fame games in a row until ALS stopped him. I'm not saying that Atwell is a HOF player waiting in the wings, but he could be a star from now on. He's only 22 and has the talent. Anyway, I've always liked the kid and have been very excited for him in his play. He is very fun to watch. So is Baker. Together, they are very fun to watch.
