If I'm reading overthecap correctly, and if he were to retire after this season, we could designate his salary to a post June of 2023 cut, and we'd take a $20 mil hit.

If this is the end, and If I'm an NFL exec. I keep him on the roster even if he can't play. IR him for the 2023 season then let him retire and push that to 2024 for a $31 mil savings.
Obvioulsy as a fan I selfishly want to to heal and return, but if his future health is at stake I'd rather he walk way under his own power and not in a wheelchair.
