Went out when they brought the ability for refs to.....

morph the rule book into a thing that can be manipulated/changed by way of interpretation.....making the book so convoluted within itself to make it near impossible to call what were simple things, fumbles, catches.....everything is now done by a persons interpretation of a rule...1 guy sees an illegal hit, another doesn't from various games to within a single game you have different calls. Targeting is a good idea, but again you have different viewpoints of what targeting is...

IMO it takes the game away from a rule book and ruling as such to a rule book that can be changed as you go due to the opinion of the ref and how he reads the rule.....it's not a book of steadfast rules.....

Too many rules mess up the original recipe.....
