Could be.
Wilson didn't intervierw well recently - threw his D under the bus, refused to take ownership of his share of the O's problems.
It's more than a PR thing. He's either a me-first prima donna, or a wuss who lacks testicular fortitude, shall we say. Haven't made my mind up which.
Perkins at least manned up when he had an opportunity.
My bottom line: I don't want Wilson. Either a vet, if we can afford one, or stick with what we have until there's a young QB to groom. Used to be your QB-in-waiting would be on the sidelines for about three years, and would only get in to give your starter a break or to finish a blowout. Worked for Aaron Rodgers. Might work again.
That sounds like Bryce Perkins....a guy who has been working carrying a clip board for 3 years and getting work in during preseason like the old days....Bryce may not have a cannon for an arm but he makes some impressive throws like the one over the middle to Higbee at the end of the game last week that had touch and accuracy.
I see something special in Bryce Perkins. A guy who has this calm demeanor and we all know he has world class running ability for a qb. He just needs to be confident in his throws and reads. I don't see the game as too fast for Perkins or that he has a noodle arm.
Perkins just hasn't been given the starting job and practice rep with the 1st string receivers. I think the problem with Perkins is that his passes doesn't impress in practice like Wolford's passes..... Wolford may be great wearing the red shirt with no real pressure but once he is out there in real game....we all know how bad Wolford is. We will see soon if Perkins is starter material in the next 6 games.
If the Rams can get Akers and Williams going with Perkins as a dual threat qb....that would open things up if the defense doesn't know what's coming.
